"Best
Burrito in Menlo Park"
1. Literal Translation 'Baby Eagle'.
2. Also A Small Town Found In The Western Region In The State Of Michoacan, Mexico.
Among the latino population of Redwood City/Menlo Park residents
there is a significant amount of mexicanos that can trace their roots
back to Aguililla.
Our family has members that have been raised in the town of Aguililla.
The word 'Market' in our name comes from our adaption to the restaurant
business. We began as a market, then a restaurant, then finally converted
into a taqueria in the span of 24 years of business. Starting out
making only
quality authentic mexican food, we are now adding fusion cooking to
our menu.
Though our menu is not completely traditional to mexican cuisine the
same
quality and care is put into our non-traditional dishes. We are confident
that
these dishes will compliment our traditional dishes & our reputation
of excellent
authentic mexican cuisine.
Alex Rojas has operated Aguililla
Market for the past seven years. He has kept the family tradition
of excellent Mexican cuisine alive as a talented & experimental
cook. Using culinary skills & recipes that have stayed in the
family over a generation Alex is branching out into Mexican fusion
cooking. Other than being a restaurant entrepreneur Alex (a.k.a.
Jandro) also occupies his time as a percussionist musician.
He plays his percussions to House & Electronic Breaks music
with some of San Francisco's hottest Dj's. During the warm weather
season you can also see him & Dj friends perform in the back
patio of Aguililla Market. Check out 'Aguililla
Market Event Calendar' for scheduled events & 'Jandro's
Event Calendar' for club events. You'll spot Alex around the
taqueria, most likely with his energetic border collie "Shadow"
close at his heels. We hope to see you here enjoying the great food
& environment that has been newly created over the past couple
years of remodeling.
Alex's family also operates Alcazar
Tapas Bar and Restaurant in Santa Barbara.
